Arcane Voices In a world of constant acceleration, the loss of landmarks leads us to seek solace and answers. One may wonder why today so many people are using tarot reading or other divination practices. To "pull" these cards through the digital tool today is to raise deep questions with current resonance. His meetings with Adrien Mondot (the creator of Pixel) on'' L'Espace d'un Instant '', and with Francis Lestienne, professor of Neuro-Sciences at University of Caen, on meaning 2, open the doors to research an intimate relationship between bodily movement and its virtual perception. Since then, her choreographic work has forged links with the worlds of video and new technologies, while working on an unconventional relationship between performer and audience. She deepens the research on the "states of body" of the dancer and the non-dancer and an increased awareness of her body space, and continues the exploration of an unusual scenic space. The dance scenes are named after the tarot cards, such as the Devil, the Hierophant, the Fool, the Lovers, etc. The Devil The Devil looked at the slaves bound by the chains and smirked. Although tied by chains, they can get rid of the Devil as long as they help each other. But they have been blindfolded by the temptation and are willing to be driven by the Devil. When looking carefully, one can easily finds that slaves have grown the same horns and tails as the Devil. Under the lure money and so-called security of the Devil, people are willing to be slaves and lose the ability to communicate with each other, with the soul full of primitive desires. In pursuit of money rather than any other goals in life, people become selfish and greedy and forget that what they seek for have no meaning any more at the end of life.
The Lovers This is the Tarot card to best explain love and represent the puberty of life. Man and women in the card come together under the call of an angel and became a lover. Although the sun is shining and happy feelings abound, there are many tests waiting for the lovers - the tree of hope and forbidden fruit rounded by snakes. Lovers can help and support each other to make romance the theme of this wonderful time. But people in love must face emotional choices, so that love is both beautiful and cruel. When you solve the card, you must pay attention to the "choice" behind the "combination", that is, you have to make a choice.
The Hierophant This is a card that awakens conscience and goodness and also about religious beliefs and traditions. The Hierophant uses compassion and insight to save people’s souls, and uses his words to guide people to the right path. He, the supreme authority of religion and spiritual belief, always finds the spiritual export for people. His compassion and virtue will surely make us not go astray and recognize our conscience. Especially when you feel guilty, he will always be happy to listen to your confession. However, as a representative of traditional knowledge and conservative morality, he controls people's thinking and narrows people’s horizons. Only by completely abandoning the old and exploring new solutions, can one have a hope.
What happens when a Card, designed in the distant past to convey a meaning and values immutable, awakens in today's world and faces a rapidly changing reality, where ephemeral seems to have the same weight as the eternal? What happens in the confrontation between these ancestral values and those of the contemporary world? How do the values of the past confront the present world, and how does the present world welcome them? Can we give these ancestral values a new reading? Do the allegories of the past help the contemporary world to recover lost values and meaning to existence where the two worlds are destined to confront each other and destroy each other? This is what Francesca Bonato brings to us. Hope you can have same thinking when you read this essay. FESITIVAL 12x12,See you next year! Some pictures of the dance:
