Filamentary Silver Hovering Arts of Chengdu

As one of the most unique gold and silver crafts of the Han Chinese, it originated from the Shang Dynasty in about 1,700BC and is one of the four most famous handicrafts of Chengdu. In 2008, it was inscribed on the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage

The biggest feature is the use of“flat filling” technology, which means no tire formation to reflect the artist's exquisite craftsmanship. According to the design, the artists use pure silver wire of different thickness to make the graphic frame first, fill and weave the middle pattern with various techniques, and then combine techniques of wire filling, stringing, threading and wire welding together. Finally the anti-tarnish process should be applied.
