Ceramics
Ceramics are objects made of clay that has been made permanently hard by heat. Some simple ones can be found in the Neolithic age. Ceramic wares have been used as household goods and now generally collected as arts and crafts. Ceramics-firing craft in Qiong kiln, starting from Northern and Southern dynasties and flourishing in Tang Dynasty, is one of the Sichuan Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Crafts like painting under the glaze, molding, kneading etc. shape the unique handicrafts. The Qiong kiln starts the process of painting on ceramic and boasts the underglaze decoration and lead-free paint. Besides the glazed paint decoration that is based on green, brown, yellow, blue etc., the decoration of body contains various techniques.
